Jon Wick Is A Piece of Sh*T!

Let’s talk about Jon Wick 4. Going into the movie I knew what to pretty much expect – guns, knives, kicks, punches, flis and kitchen sinks. Expectations were set pretty which was expected because the previous 3 movies had the exact same formula.

While enjoyable, there was something in the back of my mind that was keeping me from actually enjoying the movie. Then it hit me.

JON WICK IS A PIECE OF SHIT!!!!

Let me explain. The reason we love Jon Wick so much is that we felt sorry for him because he’d lost his wife and shortly after his dog was killed. We got caught up in this man’s grief. Blinded by the simple fact the fact that he has and always has been a murderer for hire.

The first two movies were strictly about revenge. Then part way through Jon Wick 2 up to Jon Wick 4, it’s been nothing but assholes being assholes trying to kill a man that just wants to be alone. HOWEVER, Jon Wick could have ended the High Tables pursuit had he just followed the rules. NOPE! That didn’t happen. Jon Wick instead put his close friends in danger. People that really cared for him were killed. All because JON WICK IS A PIECE OF SHIT!!!!

Okay, I got that out the way.

deep breath

Jon Wick 4 is still a pretty good Jon Wick movie. It’s a bit too long and it’s quite evident, at least to me as to why. The movie pretty much sets up things to come after, so they had to pack a lot of story into this movie. There are some very long breaks in the action so characters can talk.

Yes, there are planned spin-offs for the Jon Wick Cinematic Universe or the “Wickverse”.

As outrageous and unbelieveable the previous moives have been, Jon Wick raises the bar and turns into a straight up video game with special power-ups, upgraded armor and mini-boss fight. You’ll understand when you see it.

The action scenes are even more over the top than the previous movies. I commend everyone involved with the fight choreography. They really did their thing. My favorite scene out of all the movies is the nunchaku scene.

Donnie Yen and Hiroyuki Sanada both did their thing. Donnie Yen’s character in many ways steals the show.

I’m not going to hold you up any longer. If you love Jon Wick as much as I do, you’ll love Jon Wick 4. Just be prepared to sit 160+ minutes.
