First off, I don’t even know who the hell Jackpot is so this is a complete surprise to me.

There are characters that make appearances. you may see them once or twice but they never really do anything noteworthy so they are quickly forgotten. Ya know, characters like Alpha. “Who is Alpha?” you ask. Well he was Spider-Man’s sidekick for a while. Don even waste your time looking him up. he’s better left forgotten.

You know what? Before I even jump to conclusions, I believe this approach may be beneficial to Sony since Jackpot is a lesser-known character. This keeps expectations low and allows them to do whatever they want with the characters since there is no legacy to ruin. If the movie fails, no one would really care and they would just move on.

Marvel did something to similar with Iron Man.
